The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce has voiced its support for a package of City Charter reforms advanced by the Los Angeles City Council, saying the measures will improve the city’s ability to plan, budget, and deliver services to residents and businesses.
The reforms include the adoption of a two-year budget cycle and the creation of a capital infrastructure plan, both aimed at enhancing fiscal discipline, strengthening long-term planning, and increasing accountability within City Hall.
According to the Chamber, these structural changes address longstanding concerns about how the city manages its finances and public investments, while providing a more stable framework for future decision-making.
The business organization also reaffirmed its commitment to working with city leaders, elected officials, and community stakeholders to advance governance reforms that support economic growth and improve the quality of life across Los Angeles.
