UCLA Health has once again secured the No. 1 spot in both California and Los Angeles in the annual U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals rankings, released this week.
The health system also earned a place on the prestigious Best Hospitals Honor Roll for the 36th consecutive year, a recognition awarded this year to only 20 hospitals or health systems out of more than 4,400 evaluated nationwide.
The rankings assessed 15 medical specialties and 22 procedures and conditions. Ten UCLA Health specialties ranked among the nation’s top 10, including ear, nose and throat (#2); pulmonology and lung surgery (#4); diabetes and endocrinology (#5); ophthalmology (#5); psychiatry (#5); urology (#7); geriatrics (#7); gastroenterology and gastrointestinal surgery (#8); rheumatology (#8); and orthopedics (#10).
UCLA Health emphasized its commitment to innovation and groundbreaking achievements, citing milestones such as performing the world’s first human bladder transplant. “We will continue pushing boundaries, raising the standard of health care, and staying No. 1 for the people we serve,” the institution said.
