CBS Sports is expanding its national coverage of the 2025 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Round of 16 this week with studio programming, free match broadcasts, and the return of The Golazo Show, a whip-around program that will air every goal from Wednesday’s slate of games.
All eight Round of 16 matches, played across Tuesday and Wednesday, will stream live on Paramount+. Two games will be simulcast for free on the CBS Sports Golazo Network: Tuesday’s New England Revolution vs. Chicago Fire and Wednesday’s Austin FC vs. Houston Dynamo. CBS Sports Network will air Tuesday’s clash between the San Jose Earthquakes and the Portland Timbers, as well as Wednesday’s game between the New York Red Bulls and FC Dallas.
The Golazo Show returns Wednesday night to deliver real-time coverage of all six matches, airing exclusively on CBS Sports Golazo Network. Nico Cantor will host the coverage. Jillian Sakovits will lead studio programming across both days, joined by analysts Benny Feilhaber, Michael Lahoud, and Tony Meola. Christina Unkel will contribute as CBS Sports’ rules analyst.
Pre-match coverage begins at 7 p.m. ET daily on Paramount+ and the CBS Sports Golazo Network. A one-hour post-match recap show airs Tuesday on Paramount+, with the first half simulcast on the Golazo Network and the second half on CBS Sports Network.
Fifteen of the 16 teams remaining in the tournament are from Major League Soccer. The lone lower-division team, Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC of the USL Championship, will face Philadelphia Union in a much-anticipated all-Pennsylvania showdown. Coached by veteran Bob Lilley, the Riverhounds continue to be one of the most compelling stories of the tournament.
Now in its 110th edition, the U.S. Open Cup remains the nation’s oldest ongoing soccer competition and a rare opportunity for clubs across divisions to compete in a national tournament format. CBS Sports’ comprehensive coverage ensures fans won’t miss a moment of the action as teams push toward the championship.
